Skysisters

The 2nd Skysisters Symposium 2007 held at Skydive Ramblers drop zone from 21st to 28th of April in Toogoolawah was a huge success!

First highlight was on the 23rd of April, when eight female Wingsuit skydivers broke the WORLD RECORD with a perfect 8-way Flock, organised by Elaine Cox, from NSW. The previous record was a 7-way in England 2 years ago. The 2nd record was broken on the 26th of April, when 5 courageous skysisters have claimed the Australian record with a 5-way Canopy Stack. Jules McConnel, Shani Darling, Kim Hedley, Jill Grantham and Jenny Gordon were the first five women to
successfully complete this jump - a first in Australia.

All good things come in threes – the 3rd
national record claimed by Skysisters is the 17-way Pops Formation (Parachutists over Phorty Society) on the 28th of April, they topped a record set by 16 women 2 years ago.

Congratulations to Susie McEvoy, for putting on this awesome event to encourage, support and motivate all female skydivers. The goal of this female skydiving convention with educational seminars and record attempts, plus to gain exposure for the sport, it’s people and it’s drop zones has been achieved!
